Porsche 911: 2004 996 GT3 Cup PCA Rolex Daytona
Vehicle Description:
This car is a 2004 Porsche GT3 Cup, a factory built race car VIN#WPOZZZ99Z4S698044. The vehicle has approx. 155hrs from new with approx. 28hrs on the engine, 8hrs on the gearbox and RS (blue) axles, and 20hrs on a complete suspension maintenance and rebuild. The engine is very strong, has the RSR clutch and flywheel update, latest airbox update and open exhaust that meets a 108db noise regulation. The gearbox currently has long gearsets to be able to compete at any circuit in North America with a factory 8/32 ring and pinion and 60/40 racing differential. This car has a very advanced braking system with twin master cylinders and an adjustable ABD brake bias, Performance Friction brake calipers, pads and 2 piece floating rotors (approx. $15,000 in the brake package alone that David Murry developed for PFC and Synergy Racing). The best finish for this car was a 2nd place at Mont Tremblant 6hr in spring of '05, the last race the car ran was at Daytona in Jan, 06 where it ran a 1:56.2 lap time but lost several hours due to clutch/gearbox failure and finished 18th. Data is available from most tracks in North America on the Rolex circuit with David Murry or Craig Stanton driving.
The car has a Fuel Safe fuel cell currently dispacing 22 gallons, a certificate of FT-3 authenticity comes with the car. The car has the latest Motec ADL data acquisition with steering, throttle, g, ABS, shock and engine CAN data stream including the digital dash display and beacon receiver, you will have to supply a laptop for software download from the web but we will supply data from the tracks where the car ran. The car has a speed limiter and endurance equipment including fast fill oil and water connections to quickly add fluids to the car during pit stops. It currently has a complete Racing Radios system with in dash radio, cool suit and driver hydration system.
Cosmetically the car is very nice with a fresh repaint in the livery it last ran at Daytona (including the tech decals for the 24Hr which are seen on the doors), the windshield is new, the Sobek airjack port is new and the car very well repesented. There are some slight scratches around the windscreen/roof area since that was the only part of the car not repainted. The right rear fender and front latch panel have been replaced over the life of the car due to accident damage, but the tub has not been replaced. This car was raced, so it had the "normal" bumps and bruises along the way, but from 50 feet it looks like a new car. This is not a closet queen, but a very nicely presented race car with excellent history and options.
The tires on the car have a total of maybe 10 laps on them, the car has had a shakedown at VIR and is ready to go on the track right now, it needs nothing that I know of. The reserve is very low for this car, and it will be delivered with a brand new front bumper (NIB white gelcoat), rear bumper (painted yellow) and 1 set of bare Fikse wheels. I am including a lot of detail because I want to sell this car without a lot of questions, you are welcome and encouraged to see the car in person at VIR, but no test drives will be given until the auction is complete.
